$20k Fine for The Chainsmokers Concert Promoters

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has leveled a $20,000 fine after a concert, featuring electronic duo, The Chainsmokers violated social distancing rules amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Rolling Stone reports the show in the Hamptoms over the Summer drew criticism and resulted in Wednesday’s announcement of fines for promoters In the Know Experiences and Invisible Noise.

Cuomo added that the town of Southamptom “cannot approve permits for group gatherings without state approval.”

The July drive-in concert was a Safe and Sound charity fundraiser. Goers were supposed to stay in their cars, but social media posts appear to show large, maskless, crowds.

Have you attended any large events? Did you you worry for 14 days afterward? Do you know anyone who tested positive for COVID afterward?
