A Rare Scotch Whisky Was Just Named Best in the World

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition which is “the oldest and largest competition of its kind,” happened over the weekend.

The event revealed winners for several different spirits, and one overall praise, the “Best in Show” which went to a small Scotch distillery called Benromach located in Scotland for their 40-Year-Old Single Malt.

According to experts, the Scotch features “a nose bright and brimming with baking spice and stewed orchard fruit followed by a velvety body which carries caramel and croissant across the palate.”

One bottle retails for an average of $1,774.
