‘Atlas Falls’ Propels Shinedown to Record-Breaking Feat

Atlas may have fallen, but Shinedown is soaring after breaking a rock record on the Billboard charts.

The track “Atlas Falls” tops this week’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart, marking Shinedown’s 16th number one hit. No other act in the Billboard chart’s 39-year history has scored that many number ones.

Reacting to the news, frontman Brent Smith says he and his bandmates are “beyond humbled.” He adds, “The success of this song would have never been achieved if it wasn’t for the audience, the fans, family, the people. A song that was written and recorded eight years ago found its voice in 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic as a symbol of optimism, courage, and the human spirit. We share this number one with the whole world, and we say thank you so very much.”
