Avenged Sevenfold’s M.Shadows Says Streaming Saved the Music Industry

While some musicians may blame streaming for the downfall of the music industry, M. Shadows says the opposite.

The Avenged Sevenfold frontman shared his views on the matter in a recent interview with The Bob Lefsetz Podcast.

Shadows mentioned that some older bands are “bitter” about streaming services and could kick up some relevancy on these types of services.

“That has always made sense to me, but you still get these people that are there, ‘Streaming’s killed industry, and now we got to do this and we got to do that,'” Shadows said. “No, streaming kind of saved the industry…”

“The fan gets to listen to you at any point, so how are you going to get their attention?,” he added. “How are you going to be the best thing that’s going to be going through their earholes that day?”

Do you agree that streaming has been good for the music industry? What streaming services do you use?
