Billie Elish Reflects On Taylor Hawkins’ Death

Pop sensation Billie Eilish says the news of Taylor Hawkins’ death “really, really tore” her and her brother Finneas apart.

Eilish made the comment on the red carpet at Sunday’s 94th Annual Academy Awards, saying the news of the Foo Fighters drummer’s death “was incredibly heartbreaking. It was right before we went on stage. And we got the news, and it really, really tore us all apart. It’s horribly, horribly tragic.”

Finneas added, “We were admirers of his work years before we got to meet him. And we only met him a handful of times — I wish we got to spend more time with him — but he couldn’t have been a kinder, cooler, more generous person as well. And such a deeply inspiring person. We’re just heartbroken.”

Hawkins was found unresponsive Friday in his hotel room in Bogota, Colombia. Although an official cause of death has not yet been determined, officials say an initial examination found at least 10 substances in his body.
