Billy Corgan Explains Why He Never Left Smashing Pumpkins to Go Solo

A new interview on Sirius XM reveals exactly why Billy Corgan didn’t abandon Smashing Pumpkins.

Corgan said that he always saw bands as “this sort of defacto family,” citing that he didn’t use to be close to the people he grew up with.

Saying that he probably should have gone solo, Corgan claimed that he’s always worked best on his own or with collaborators.

So why didn’t he go solo? Corgan says he relationship with bandmates Jimmy Chamberlain and James Iha have always made the music sound better.
