Somebody in Seattle with nothing constructive to do vandalized the statue of late Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell in front of the Museum of Pop Culture.

Seattle’s KIRO-7 shared a Facebook pic this week of the bronze statue painted white. The statue, which has been there as a memorial for Seattle resident Cornell since 2018, has been restored but now comes surrounded by a temporary fence.

Chris Cornell’s widow, Vicky, said in a Instagram post “My children and I are heartbroken to learn about the statue being vandalized. In the face of this hate and destruction…it lifted our hearts to hear that fans brought supplies and attempted to clean up the statue. Hate will not win.”

Why would someone vandalize a memorial statue of Chris Cornell?
