Slipknot’s Corey Taylor gives Faith No More credit for changing the course of his life at its darkest moment.
The singer says he was at home recovering from a suicide attempt when he saw Faith No More perform “Epic” at the 1990 MTV Video Music Awards.
He said the performance convinced him that he could be a full-time rock star: “The next day I started putting signs up in guitar places, looking for people to start bands with. And that’s where it all started.”
These days, Taylor is more than willing to talk about his mental health struggles, which he prefers to channel into music.
