January 2, 2023 10:00AM EST
Craig Greenberg officially became Louisville’s 51st mayor after an inauguration ceremony at City Hall earlier today.
Greenberg replaces Greg Fischer, who served as the city’s mayor for more than a decade.
Greenberg, who named four sitting and former Democratic Metro Council members to his senior leadership team in December, takes office following a plethora of campaign promises.
Among other things, he has said he plans to “fully fund” police, launch a Department of Education, and build at least 15,000 more affordable housing units.
