Craig Greenberg officially became Louisville’s 51st mayor after an inauguration ceremony at City Hall earlier today.

Greenberg replaces Greg Fischer, who served as the city’s mayor for more than a decade.

Greenberg, who named four sitting and former Democratic Metro Council members to his senior leadership team in December, takes office following a plethora of campaign promises.

Among other things, he has said he plans to “fully fund” police, launch a Department of Education, and build at least 15,000 more affordable housing units.
