While System Of A Down has been able to come together to play shows again, working with each other on a new album is a much different story.

Taking to Instagram, John Dolmayan notes how several of their contemporaries like Tool, Rage Against The Machine, and Red Hot Chili Peppers are making it work, but his band can’t seem to get their long talked about fourth album off the ground.

“Perhaps it’s time to put all the bulls**t aside, check the massive egos at the door, and do together what none of us can do alone. Maybe, just maybe a Christmas miracle will happen. Maybe it can be a System Of A Down,” writes the drummer on the caption of the pic featuring the four band logos.

Maybe the message will get through. Frontman Serj Tankian liked the post, adding, “I don’t have that System sticker. I like it upside down,” along with a happy face emoji.

How important is it for established bands to keep releasing new albums?
