E3 2022 Has Been Officially Cancelled

E3 2022 — one of the world’s most popular electronics expos — has been officially cancelled, organizers announced on Thursday.

Although last year’s Los Angeles-based event was also cancelled, the expo was still staged virtually. This year, however, there will be no virtual event either, organizers say. According to gaming site IGN, the decision to pull the plug on this year’s event was actually made in January — but organizers have been trying to decide whether to host a virtual expo since then.

The announcement marks the third time in E3’s 27-year history that it’s been cancelled.
