It turns out Eddie Vedder doesn’t need a microphone in his hand to impress people; he can do it with a baseball bat as well.

The Pearl Jam frontman was recently challenged by Chicago Cubs official Theo Epstein to complete a trick shot as part of the #TrickShot4Snowy ALS challenge. So Vedder decided to take a swing at a baseball — while standing on a surf board being towed by a speedboat. And the singer managed to pull it off, striking the ball while being dragged along the wavy water. Almost more impressively, he was able to stay on the board after pummeling the ball — at least for a few seconds.

Following the feat, Vedder challenged his Pearl Jam bandmate Jeff Ament and NHL player Chris Chelios to perform trick shots of their own.

Will the ALS challenge ever be as popular as it was with the Ice Bucket Challenge? Why did that take off like it did?
