Turns out the only movie star who could stop Chris Pratt is… Chris Pratt.
Over the weekend, the Chris Pratt-starring Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 grabbed the #1 spot at the box office from… the Chris Pratt-starring Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Guardians raked in $114 million, the second-biggest debut of the year so far.
Super Mario Bros. fell to second place with $18.6 million, bringing its global box office to over $1.15 billion.
Evil Dead Rise ($5.7 million), Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret ($3.38 million), and Love Again ($2.4 million) rounded out the top five.
