Homeschooling your child is “dangerous” and should be banned. That’s the word from one Harvard law professor.
Speaking to Harvard Magazine, Elizabeth Bartholet claimed that educating children outside the traditional system allows parents to have “essentially authoritarian” control over their kids.
Bartholet went on to say that parents in the homeschool movement are “extreme religious ideologues” who “question science and promote female subservience and white supremacy.”
Harvard graduate and homeschooler Kerry McDonald called the piece “one-sided” and “filled with misinformation,” while education policy analyst Mike McShane told Forbes that Bartholet relied on “lazy stereotypes.”
