How Linkin Park Got Its Name

Behind every band name is a story – including legendary nu-metal outfit Linkin Park.

The band took its name from the real-life Lincoln Park in Santa Monica, where bandmates Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, and Brad Delson grew up.

But what about the spelling? Shinoda says they changed it because they wanted their own website. ‘LincolnPark.com’ was already taken, so they changed it to ‘Linkin’ – and the rest is history.

What are some of your favorite band name origin stories?
