Jack White Wants Labels To Press Their Own Records

Jack White wants major record labels to open their own vinyl record pressing plants.

In a video called “A Plea To The Three Global Major Labels From Jack White,” the rocker addresses vinyl’s supply chain problem due to the format’s resurgence.

White explains, “A small punk band can’t get their record for 8 to 10 months. As MC5 once said: ‘You’re either part of the problem or part of the solution.”

White’s Third Man Records opened its own vinyl record pressing plant in 2017.

Do you think it makes sense for labels to have their own pressing plants?
