Kentucky Native Picked for National Anthem for Kentucky Derby

Carly Pearce, a 33-year-old Kentucky native, has been announced as the singer of the National Anthem at this year’s Kentucky Derby.

Pearce has won a Grammy, multiple CMT Music Awards, and CMA Awards.

She will be joining a long list of big stars to sing at the Kentucky Derby, such as Lady A, Martina McBride, Mary J. Blige, and Rascal Flatts.

Additionally, Rachel Platten will be singing the “Star-Spangled Banner” the day before on Kentucky Oaks day and her hit “Fight Song” during the Survivor’s Parade.
