‘Mario’ Stays Super At The Box Office

The Super Mario Bros. Movie continues to stomp the competition at the box office.

The movie grabbed the #1 spot for a second consecutive weekend, raking in another $87 million for a total global box office of $678 million in just two weeks.

The Pope’s Exorcist finished in 2nd place with $9.1 million, followed by John Wick: Chapter 4 with $7.9 million.

The Nicolas Cage vampire comedy Renfield and the Air Jordan Nike movie Air rounded out the top five with $7.7 million each.

Why is Mario such a hit?  Why was Renfield such a flop?
