Netflix has begun its long-awaited crackdown on password sharing.

On Tuesday, the streamer began emailing customers with a reminder that “Your Netflix account is for you and the people you live with – your household”.

It also explains how to transfer a Netflix profile to a new account, or add access for someone who lives outside your home for $7.99 per month.

The crackdown has been in the works for more than a year.  Netflix has previously said that about 100 million accounts are sharing passwords.

Do you share passwords for any of your streaming platforms or other subscriptions?  Are you more likely to sign up for your own account, or just cancel?
