NFL Overtime Rule Change Giving Both Teams Possession Approved For Playoffs Only

The NFL is changing its overtime rules to guarantee each team at least one possession in OT – but not everyone is a fan of the change.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin says he’s a “traditionalist” who still prefers the old sudden-death format, which went away in 2010.
He told ProFootballTalk: “I just think 60 minutes everybody has had a fair opportunity to win the game. When you’re talking about changes as it pertains to competitive fairness, I speak to the first 60 minutes that we all had. So, win the game.”
The new rules take effect next season and will only apply to playoff games, at least for now.
