NFL Ref Will Be First Woman Ever To Officiate Super Bowl

NFL referee Sarah Thomas will be making history next month – as the first woman ever to officiate in a Super Bowl.

On Tuesday, the NFL announced its crew for Super Bowl LV, including Thomas as down judge.

Thomas became the league’s first female referee in 2015. NFL officials are required to have a minimum of 5 years experience to work a Super Bowl.

Super Bowl LV will kick off Feb. 7th from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL.

Will we ever see an all-female officiating crew work an NFL game? What about a female head coach?
