Pug Dog Is 1st To Test Positive For Coronavirus

A pug dog in North Carolina is the first dog to test positive for coronavirus in the U.S., leaving officials concerned that pets could spread the disease.

Researchers at Duke University say the dog, named Winston, likely contracted the virus from its human family – three of whom tested positive for COVID-19.

But doctors say the family’s other dog and two cats did not test positive.

Earlier this week, the CDC recommended that social distancing be applied to pets as well, and that owners should keep their furry friends indoors or at least six feet away from other animals.
