Radiohead Guitarist Discusses Potential Reunion

Are the members of Radiohead ever getting back together? Maybe, maybe not, says guitarist Ed O’Brien.

Asked point-blank if fans can expect a reunion of the band, O’Brien says, “We could do something in a couple years. We might not. But I think what is has to be, is it has to be five people going, ‘I really want to do this again with you.’ And I think at the moment, because we’ve done it for so long, we’re all reaching out and wanting to have different experiences. And that should be allowed, and it should be encouraged.”

One thing is for sure, O’Brien adds: He never wants Radiohead to be “one of those bands that gets together for the big payday.”

Until the band’s members decide what to do, fans can catch two of them — Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood — on tour with their new band, The Smile.

Is The Smile anything like Radiohead?
