‘Red Bull Addict’ Leads Vegas Cops On High-Speed Chase

A Las Vegas woman who describes herself as a “Red Bull addict” is behind bars after she stole hundreds of cans of the energy drink before leading police on a high-speed chase.

The chain of events began last week at a Las Vegas Costco, where two employees spotted the woman — later identified as 27-year-old Angela Sharp — leaving the store with a “shopping cart-full” of Red Bull cases, police say. When an employee confronted her, Sharp threatened to pepper-spray her, according to the Las Vegas P.D. Eugene Davis, 35, then helped Sharp load the stolen cans of energy drink into her car before Sharp turned around and followed through on her pepper-spray threat, police say. Employees say Sharp has stolen Red Bull from the store before.

Police caught up with Sharp, who led them on a pursuit that hit speeds of more than 100 miles per hour, police say. When they finally got her to pull over, they found 200 cans of Red Bull in the trunk, Sharp’s arrest report reveals. She’s believed to have stolen thousands of cans in several robberies. Sharp told investigators “she did it because she is addicted to Red Bull,” according to her arrest report.

Can a person really be addicted to Red Bull?
