Scientists Make Breakthrough In ‘Cyborg’ Technology

It sounds like something that you would see out of Terminator, but it’s actually far from the machine-takeover above.

A new scientific breakthrough has put us one step closer to ‘cyborg’-style human-machine hybrids.

Researchers at the University of Delaware have developed a new way to safely attach electronic devices inside human muscle or brain tissue, using a new energy-efficient coating.

They say the technology can be used to monitor health data, or to detect and track disease or tumors. Lead researcher David Martin even thinks it could one day allow for “merging artificial intelligence with the human brain”.

How do you feel about merging technology with the human body? Will it happen within our lifetimes? Should it?
