Shinedown’s Brent Smith: “I Thought I Was Gonna Die From Withdrawal”

Shinedown’s Brent Smith admits he’s lucky to be alive.

In a new interview, he talked about a show they played at the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles in 2015 as he was trying to kick his addiction.

Smith said, “The withdrawal made me feel like I was going die. To the band’s credit, they pulled the slack for me.”

Smith also talked about the last time he cried; the day Eddie Van Halen died.

“I was lucky enough to hang out with Eddie during the early days of Shinedown. He was among the sweetest, kindest people I knew.”

When was the last time you cried?
