Soundgarden Still In Legal Battle Over Chris Cornell’s Final Songs

Sounds like the legal battle between Soundgarden and Chris Cornell’s estate is not over.

Drummer Matt Cameron recently told the Vinyl Guide podcast that the band was “still in the middle of a dispute” and that “everything is on hold right now.”

The dispute centers around a batch of demos recorded by Chris Cornell before his death in 2017.  Back in April, the two sides announced they had reached an “amicable out-of-court resolution” that would allow fans to finally hear them.

Cameron says it’s unlikely the recordings will be released in 2024.

What would be the most fair way for this dispute to be settled?
