Starbucks has announced it’s raising the hourly pay of its U.S. retail employees by 3% beginning in 2024.
Workers with two to five years of employment with the coffee chain will receive a 4% raise, while workers with over five years will receive a 5% raise.
Additionally, paid vacation benefits will be accessible to more employees, because the minimum days worked requirement has been reduced.
These moves come following a year where more and more Starbucks locations have organized and voted to unionize.
Are you surprised by Starbucks’ attempt to deter unionizing? Could more pay increases be on the way?
