Survey: 35 Percent of Americans Give Up on Thanksgiving

More than one-third of Americans say they’re planning a small Thanksgiving dinner at home this year.

That’s according to an Ipsos poll of 1,005 U.S. residents, of whom 35 percent say they plan on avoiding large family gatherings to cut down on the risk of contracting the coronavirus. Five percent of them say they intend on getting tested before celebrating the holiday, while another five percent say they plan on asking their guests to get tested.

A number of medical experts are also advising people with Thanksgiving plans to self-quarantine for up to two weeks prior to the holiday. In other words, start now.

Meanwhile, multiple Sheriff departments in New York have said they will not be enforcing gathering limits on Thanksgiving Day.
