May 18th marked two years since we lost Soundgarden/Audioslave vocalist Chris Cornell. The rock community honored his life and music over the weekend.

Cornell’s Audioslave bandmate, Tom Morello, was joined by System of A Down frontman Serj Tankian for a cover of “Like A Stone” at Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio.

The crowd got a surprise during a medley of hits from Morello. Around 4 minutes into the performance, Serj walked onstage to a roaring crowd as both artists celebrated Cornell.

This isn’t the first time that Morello and Tankian have teamed up for this performance, having collaborated with Prophets Of Rage (see video above).

Cornell will be celebrated again this summer with Soundgarden’s Live from The Artist’s Den, an over two-hour concert and album coming on the 26th.
