This Song Just Reached A Milestone

Mariah Carey’s holiday mega-hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” just reached the Billboard Hot 100’s top 10 for the first time, over 23 years after its 1994 release.

The song rose from No. 11 to No. 9 on the chart dated December 30th. “This is such an amazing Christmas gift!,” Carey told Billboard. “As a songwriter, I feel so honored to have this song reach Billboard’s [Hot 100] top 10 for the first time. I honestly never thought we’d be talking about this happening, but I’m so thankful to everyone who embraces this song as part of their holiday tradition. It truly warms my heart, and I am proud of this song that I wrote basically as a kid on my little Casio keyboard.”

Among other feats, the song also marks Carey’s 28th Hot 100 top 10, tying her with Stevie Wonder for the fifth-most top 10s in history.
