Watch Marilyn Manson Play His First Acoustic Show in 1991

Kerrang unearthed video of a young Marilyn Manson performing with his band The Spooky Kids at an in-store appearance in 1991.

This was the Manson before the bible-burning, podium preaching shock royalty that he would become.

The video looks like a commercial for Hot Topic with Manson in lime green tights, a show host who’s dressed like a Victorian militant and a guitar player giving us his best grunge hair swings.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Manson outside of his goth rock look. The rocker appeared on an episode of Eastbound & Down, almost unrecognizable to most. He also had a toned down gothic look when he was on Sons Of Anarchy.
