Alice In Chains Frontman Says He Was Welcomed Into Band’s Creative Process

Despite not being the band’s original singer, Alice In Chains frontman William Duvall says he quickly joined in on the creative process.

In an interview with the radio show Whiplash, Duvall said he made “inroads” into the band’s songwriting process “fairly early on”.

He says song ideas “began in soundchecks and in backstage dressing rooms and long bus rides” while on tour.

Duvall joined the band in 2006, four years after original singer Layne Staley died of a heroin overdose.
