Biden Administration Urging Americans to Get New COVID Booster

A new coronavirus booster shot is on the way, and the Biden administration is encouraging Americans to get it when it’s released this Fall.

Major COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers – including Moderna and Pfizer – have created updated boosters that protect against new subvariant XBB.1.5 known as “Eris.”

An official from the Biden administration said, “We will be encouraging all Americans to get those boosters in addition to flu shots and RSV shots.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report a rise in infections and hospital admissions as of late, but overall COVID levels have remained low.
