You may think a lot of people went to theaters to see Black Adam, but if you look at the numbers, the film wasn’t a success.
The way things are looking, the film will be in the red when it leaves theaters.
According to the numbers, the film’s production budget was $195 million, and the film grossed $387 million. Now that may sound good, but the theaters haven’t gotten its cut which will be about half of the gross. Then factor in advertising which was around $100 million, and that spells a loss.
A loss of from $50 to $100 million dollars. While some of that could be made up with streaming and DVD sales, it won’t be enough to break even.
Did you get to the theater to see Black Adam? What would you have done differently with Black Adam?
