Members of Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, and other music industry vets are launching a ‘Shark Tank’-like opportunity for artists.

Blink’s Mark Hoppus, FOB’s Pete Wentz, Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman, and others will be part of Verswire, billed as an “artist development incubator”.

Hoppus says Verswire will “build a new way for bands and artists to create music for communities” while still retaining ownership of their work.

Verswire already has its first signing – the alt-rock band Beauty School Dropout, which dropped its first single this week.

What does the music industry need to change to better support both artists and fans?
