And like the other music festivals of the 2020 season, Burning Man has been called off due to what organizers called “the painful reality of COVID-19.”

Planned to place in the Nevada desert from August 30 to September 7, the cancellation marks a first in the event’s 34-year history.

Fortunately Burners can still attend, just virtually. Black Rock City will be built on a website dubbed the Multiverse, which would have been this year’s theme.

“We’re not sure how it’s going to come out; it will likely be messy and awkward with mistakes. It will also likely be engaging, connective, and fun,” admits a statement on the Burning Man website.

Which festivals were you looking forward to attending this year?
