Downtown Louisville Projects Land $100 Million in Kentucky Spending Bill

Kentucky budget negotiators have passed a new spending bill to help various projects in the Downtown area of Louisville.

Newly allocated $100 million will help key downtown Louisville projects and an additional $46 million for initiatives for University of Louisville.

The bill includes funding for projects like the Belvedere overhaul, Community Care Campus, LOUMED medical district campus, and Butchertown Sports District.

Critics raised concerns about the quick vote and project prioritization, but Rep. Tina Bojanowski praised the bill as a historic investment.

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg welcomed the funding for transformative downtown projects, while the bill also allocates funds for U of L programs, Louisville Orchestra, Waterfront Botanical Gardens, and other initiatives.
