A woman attending a recent Pearl Jam concert in Zurich found herself being singled out by frontman Eddie Vedder — but not in a good way.

The unidentified woman was tossed out of the show by Vedder after he spotted her hitting a man on the head, presumably upset that he was capturing the show on video.

“Turn the lights on, please,” Vedder said, stopping the show. “Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey — I saw the whole thing. I know, it was annoying you. You were bummed out ‘cause he was filming the whole time.” After complimenting the woman on her strength, Vedder went on to kick her out. “I appreciate the fact that you can be strong,” he told the woman. “You’re out of here. Violence is not allowed. I’m sorry ma’am, there’s no violence allowed. You could’ve waved to me, I was lookin’ right at you. Sorry about that, it’s just not cool. We’re not hittin’ people here. Sorry.”

Security personnel then escorted the woman out of the venue, after which Pearl Jam resumed the show.

Does a performer have the right to make a paying fan leave a concert?
