Floyd Central High School Music Teacher Receives Prestigious Barry Manilow Award

Floyd Central High School’s music department has something extraordinary to celebrate as their very own music teacher has been honored with the prestigious Barry Manilow Award.

Doug Elmore at Floyd Central High School was named the winner of the Manilow Music Contest.

For his award, Elmore will receive $5,000 in cash and another $5,000 in “Manilow bucks,” which can be used to purchase musical instruments for his school’s music program. And to top it all off, Elmore is also getting VIP tickets to Manilow’s concert at the KFC Yum! Center on August 21st.

The Barry Manilow Award is a recognition well-deserved, and it serves as an inspiration to educators everywhere who strive to make a difference in the lives of their students through the power of music.
