Internet Slams Machine Gun Kelly’s Controversial New Guitar, He Responds
Machine Gun Kelly has partnered with Schecter Guitars for a new signature model, and the internet is not having it.
The guitar is shaped like a rectangular razor blade and comes in metallic silver. It was originally listed for $2,169, but Schecter’s website now sells it for $1,499.

The shape of the platform has drawn criticism online, with some arguing that it “glorifies self-harm.”
The State of the Scene Podcast and METALBIRB posted promo photos of the guitar a few days ago, with one user stating, “I know MGK sucks and people don’t like him… but what’s up with the guitar being a razor? It’s almost like it’s glorying [sic] self-harm. Schecter man… the scene has problems with mental health, and making tools that can cause self-harm look ‘cool’ is actually super lame. Also, the guitar is hideous, but that’s just obvious.”
i’ll never explain my art, because true art is conversational and always up for interpretation, but i will say, most of you constantly interpret it wrong. and then blame me for your version of what you think my art is. ultimately im sad at how people perceive me in general. peace

Do you think MGK’s guitar is inappropriate?
