Louisville Zoo Retiring Elephant Exhibit Soon, Exhibit To Be Repurposed

You might want to plan your next visit to see the elephants, because time is running out.

The Louisville Zoo says their elephants will be leaving next year, and it’s unclear when they’ll have elephants again.

In an announcement on Thursday, the Zoo said that they have started preparing to retire African elephant Mikki and Asian elephant Punch to a 3,000-acre sanctuary in Tennessee.

Mikki and Punch are the last two remaining elephants at the Louisville Zoo after baby elephant Fitz passed away last year at the age of 3.

The zoo expects that move to happen in the spring of 2025, so get your fix while you can.
