Mark Hoppus Shares Cancer Journey

People.com is sharing Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus’ cancer journey in his own words.

The online magazine released the story yesterday.

It documents Hoppus’ entire battle with the disease, including the upside.

Hoppus, who turned 50 this week, said the upside of his cancer battle was that, “I’ve had a lot of thoughts about my own mortality, a lot of thoughts about what happens when I’m gone. I’ve been listening to ‘Adam’s Song,’ thinking, Yeah, tomorrow holds such better days.”

Hoppus wrote the tune in 1999 and talks about “Days when I can still feel alive.  When I can’t wait to get outside.  The world is wide, the time goes by.  The tour is over, I’ve survived.”

What’s the hardest thing you ever survived?
