Would you pay extra for a version of Facebook or Instagram without the ads? European users will soon be getting the chance.

Meta has announced a new paid ad-free version of both platforms, which will be rolled out in Europe starting in November.

The subscription will cost 10 euros (about $10.50) for desktop or 13 euros ($13.75) for mobile devices.

The move isn’t just about money – it’s also a way for Meta to sidestep the EU’s strict data privacy rules, which require users to give consent before being shown ads.

No plans to bring the paid ad-free tier to the U.S. have been announced – for now, at least.

Would you pay to use Facebook or Instagram without ads?  Would you pay for *any* social media platform?
