Let this be a lesson in reality. They built it and they still didn’t come.

Ken Rosenthal, with The Athletic, reports Major League Baseball has cancelled its Aug. 23 Field of Dreams game featuring the White Sox and Cardinals.

The league still plans to visit Dyersville, Iowa in 2021. The White Sox will face a yet to be determined opponent.

The field and White Sox were featured in the 1989 flick.

Given that both teams could easily drive to the field, should MLB have kept the game on the books? Does it make more sense to wait until fans can attend?
