The news came amid a league board of governors virtual meeting Friday. A formal announcement is expected soon.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports most owners expect that announcement to come within the next week.

It’s still unclear what resumption looks like. It could include jumping straight to modified postseason playoffs.
