Well here’s something to look forward to amid the coronavirus crisis: Arcade Fire is working on a follow-up to 2017’s Everything Now.

Sharing a series of handwritten notes on Instagram, which were also typed out in the captions, Win Butler revealed the news that the band has penned new material.

“We had been exploring a lot of lyrical and musical themes that feel almost eerily related to what is happening now (we actually have a song called Age of Anxiety written a year ago for Christ’s sake – ha ha ),” Monday night’s message adds.

Butler also admits that it may take some time for these songs to come out, noting, “eventually…not soon…if you don’t have patience by now, you definitely aren’t reading this.”

Which other bands have revealed they’re working on music while under quarantine?
