The NHL and MLB has joined the NBA in suspending its season over coronavirus concerns.

After announcing Thursday morning that all team practices and meetings were cancelled, the NHL decided a few hours later to suspend the season indefinitely. According to ESPN, MLB will shut down spring training and is expected to delay the start of the regular season, which is scheduled to begin March 26th.

In a statement, the NHL said it hoped to resume play “as soon as it is appropriate and prudent”.  In the meantime, it called on players and team staffers to “take all reasonable precautions – including by self-quarantine, where appropriate.” An official MLB announcement is expected after league owners hold a conference call Thursday to make an official decision.

A little under a month remains in the NHL regular season, which was scheduled to end April 4th.

How long do you think these suspensions will last?  Would you be okay with the NHL cancelling the rest of the season, or should they hold some sort of playoffs, even if it’s in an empty arena?

What are we all going to do for the next few weeks while everything’s cancelled?
