Nickelback ended up benefiting big-time from last week’s Twitter controversy.

The Canadian rockers found themselves back in the headlines after Twitter took down a presidential tweet that used a clip from the band’s “Photograph” video.

But it must be true that controversy sells. According to Billboard, streams and sales of Nickelback’s “Photograph” increased by 569% over the next two days.

Do you think controversy helps or hurts a rock band’s image? Will this help make Nickelback ‘cool’ again?
