An MTV “Moonman” statue that was awarded to Pearl Jam in 1993 is hitting the auction block.

The award, given to the members of the grunge band for their “Jeremy” video, is part of a Pearl Jam auction that’s being presented by Rockaway Records. “MTV ‘Moonmen’ are incredibly rare,” says Rockaway Records’ Wayne Johnson. “They are made in tiny quantities, and we have only had a handful since they were first handed out in 1984. The statue for Pearl Jam’s ‘Jeremy’ is one of the coolest and rarest Pearl Jam items we have ever offered for sale.”

Also up for grabs are a Fender Telecaster signed by Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard and a limited 2009 Backspacer translucent vinyl album, which is one of only two known to exist, Johnson says.

Check out the auction at www.rockaway.com.
